Getting Inspired

A super simple Scavenger hunt!
One of our favourite types of scavenger hunt! A colour hunt. Super simple and super effective at telling you lots about how your children see the world around them!

Frog and Toad
We have been finding lots of frogs and toads about this year at forest school. It reminds me we need to dig a wildlife pond for them and also of the Frog and Toad books!

Campfire cooking
A few recipes we have and will try in our Dutch oven! Over the camp fire, which is fast becoming our favourite way to cook outdoors!

Bubbles galore
Some of our favourite ways to make bubbles. Racquets, sticks and string… What is your favourite way to make bubbles?

Using Real Tools with Kids
A little of our woodworking here at Forest School. Using real tools, stop cuts, whittling and knit work to make traps.

Crushing the grapes
Growing grapes in the Polytunnel. The white grapes ripened. This year we decided to press them into juice to make wine.

A Very Hungry Caterpillar
Some activities to support reading Eric Carle’s lovely The Very Hungry Caterpillar story. Making our own twig caterpillar and finding foods for our found caterpillars.

Plums!!
Picking the plums from the orchard. Plum jam, plum crumble, the effects of cooler weather and wasps.

Honey
Collecting the honey from our hives! Spinning the honey and filtering the honey ready to go into the jars!

Wiseman’s Bridge
Another new beach to explore. Wiseman’s Bridge near Saundersfoot in Pembrokeshire. Beautiful cliffs, caves, rocks, sand and the sea.
