Description

Many people know that my other job is an outdoor educator. I LOVE being outside in nature and in particular the woods. The Maple Leaf hat is inspired by our woodlands and hedgerows here at the smallholding and the field maples.

Final Measurements:
Unstretched brim measurement = 16 inches or 40 cms
The hat measures 7.5 inches or 19cms from brim to the top of crown.

Gauge:
11 sts = 2 inches or 5cms
14 rounds = 2 inches or 5 cms
Pattern for gauge is stocking stitch.

Requirements:
1 x 100gm skein of Tyddyn Bryn Rustic with alpaca Double Knit (100gm = 225yards/205m) pictured in Valerian colourway for the main colour
1 x 50gm skein of Tyddyn Bryn Rustic Double Knit (50gm = 112yards/102m) pictured in Gorse Colourway for the contrasting colour
Circular and double pointed needles in 4mm or size to get gauge
Circular needles in 3.25mm

Abbreviations:
dpn = double pointed needles
K = knit
K2tog = knit 2 sts together
P = purl
PM = place marker
slm = slip marker SSK = Slip, slip, knit: slip two stitches one by one as if to knit, then knit these two stitches together through the back loop
