Description

Since moving to the smallholding my husband has taken up bee keeping and from time to time he brings in chunks of honeycomb or wax, once with a few eggs and baby bees in!  All these treasures from the hive are so extraordinarily beautiful they inspired me to write a few patterns.

Final Measurements:  unstretched brim 16 inches or 40 cms

with optional honeycomb the pattern measures 9.75 inches or 25 cms from brim to crown, without the honeycomb the pattern measures 7.5 inches or 19cms from brim to crown.

Gauge:  11 sts to 2 inches or 5 cms, 14 rounds to 2 inches of 5 cms.

Requirements:

1 100g skeins of Tyddyn Bryn Rustic with Alpaca (100g = 225 yards or 205m)  Pictured in Bettany or Gentian Colourways for the main colour

1 100g skein of Tyddyn Bryn Rustic with Alpaca (100g = 225 yards or 205m)  Pictured in Bettany or Gentian Colourways for the contrasting colour

Circular needles and DPNs in 3.25mm and 4mm or size to get gauge.
