This month we are on the hunt for rosehips and sloes!

Rosehips, the fresh reds and oranges in the hedgerows at this time of year, which hold vitamin C in plentiful supply, or Sloes like mini plums hiding in the thorny blackthorn bushes. (Be wary of those thorns if caught out they easily become infected cuts)

Rosehips can be added to our Spiced Elderberry syrup

Or you can make delicious rosehip jelly in the same manner as the apple jelly on our sister site here. Simply slice the rosehips in half, boil them in water and drip them through the jelly bag, then follow the same instructions for the resulting liquid.

Sloes are a great addition to gin! Here is a recipe I have found.
