So, if you have visited us here you will know that we have a few bee hives dotted around the place. This year, finally we have managed to keep a hive to fruition. Away from wasp attacks, from swarming and all the other multitudes of issues that can happen to hives up in this windswept landscape.

So three days ago James put on the bee excluder for one super. We have left the hive with a full brood box and super for their winter feed. then the following day he took off the super of honey!

We spun the frames in the honey spinner I bought James for a birthday present a few years back!

Then filtered it….

And now it is resting ready to go into jars!! Yum yum!!
